DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 16TH JULY 2025

There was a small reduction in supply; however, numbers remained relatively high at 6,518 head. Cows continued to come forward in large numbers, with 1,530 penned, along with 300 bulls. All the regular exporters were in attendance and active, and the southern operators from previous weeks returned to be the major buyers. The regular feed and trade buyers, along with restockers, were present and operating.

Lightweight yearling steers returning to the paddock gained 20c/kg, while yearling steers to feed improved by 3c to 7c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers to restockers averaged 8c/kg dearer, and heavyweight yearling heifers to feed sold to a market 18c/kg better. Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to strong demand for the quality penned. Cows experienced very little change in price from the improved levels of the previous sale.

Lightweight yearling steers to restockers made to 464c, averaging from 409c to 441c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 404c to 409c, with sales reaching 450c/kg. Heavyweight yearling steers to feed topped at 476c, with most sales from 394c to 408c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 360c and averaged from 320c to 327c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 374c, averaging from 329c to 349c/kg. Heavyweight yearling heifers to feed reached a top of 384c to average 357c/kg.

Heavy grown steers and bullocks averaged from 378c to 379c, with sales up to 400c/kg. Heavy grown heifers made to 382c, averaging 366c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 276c and made to 294c/kg. Heavyweight 3 score cows averaged 316c, with the best of the cows reaching 347c and averaging 336c/kg. Heavyweight bulls made to 352c/kg.
