BLACKALL CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – THURSDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER 2024
Blackall Combined Agents yarded a total of 1609 head at the weekly Prime & Store sale. There were good quality heavy prime cattle. The yard was of a relatively mixed quality across all categories that was met by strong competition from a full gallery of processors in attendance and operating. A mixed quality yarding of store cattle saw fluctuation in price with the better end cattle receiving solid competition from restockers. Cattle were sourced both locally from Blackall, Tambo, Aramac, Barcaldine, Longreach, Muttaburra, Yarraka and areas as well as further north from Pentland & Hughenden. Next sale is the Blackall Weaner & Store Sale with 6100 head booked.

A vendor in today’s sale has very generously donated the proceeds of two Santa Gertrudis cross cows to Angel Flight making 292.2c/kg weighing 655kg to return $1,914/hd. The same vendor also donated the proceeds of a Santa Gertrudis cross cow to RFDS for 288.2c/kg weighing 790kg to return $2,277/hd.
