Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,741 Prime Cattle. The prime cattle consisted of 882 Bullocks, 173 Heifers, 1,197 Cows & 489 Bulls. 

Cattle comprise of a large run of heavy fresh Ox, limited butcher heifers, large run of both fat and store cows with a large run of secondary bulls. The yarding was drawn from Mount Isa, Croydon, Prairie, Julia Creek, Hughenden, Cape York, as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes:

Bullocks were quoted 10c dearer, Heifers were 10-15c easier, Cows were 5c easier and Bulls were 20c dearer, on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 315c/kg, sold on A/c GA & WL Collins, “Cotonvale Station”, Prairie that weighed 554kg to return $1,745 per head
  • Best priced trade Heifers were presented on A/c Jaydin Brosnan, “Overflow Station”, Hughenden that sold for 270c/kg and weighed 453kg to return $1,223 per head
  • The top pen of Cows was sold by A/c Laroona Pastoral Co, “Laroona Station”, Charters Towers for 285.2c/kg, weighing 550kg to return $1,568 per head
  • Bulls sold on A/c Philipson Holdings, Charters Towers topped at 278.2c/kg and weighed 860kg, to return $2,392 per head
