CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 27TH NOVEMBER 2024
Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,038 Cattle, consisting of 776 Prime Cattle and 1,262 Store Cattle. The Prime Cattle consisted of 144 Bullocks, 60 Heifers, 369 Cows and 203 Bulls. The Store section consisted of 937Steers, 316 Heifers and 9 Cows & Calves.
Cattle comprised of mixed fat cattle which sold firmly and larger runs of stores that sold competitively showing more confidence in the store market. The yarding was drawn from Collinsville, Hughenden, Julia Creek, as well as local and coastal areas.
Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted 5¢ dearer, Heifers were 5¢ dearer, Cows were 10¢ easier and Bulls were unchanged, on last week’s rates.

- Bullocks topped at 306¢/kg on a/c Maitland Grazing, Malanda that weighed 785kg to return a $2,403 per head.
- Best priced trade Heifers were presented on a/c Maitland Grazing, Malanda that sold for 292¢/kg and weighed 580kg to return $1,694 per head.
- The top pen of Cows was sold by a/c Wyandotte Grazing for 2¢/kg, weighing 564kg to return $1,590 per head.
- Bulls sold on a/c Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, topped at 280¢/kg and weighed 765kg, to return $2,142 per head.
