Cattle comprised of a few good pens of finished bullocks and very few runs of prime cows selling to strong rates. The yarding was drawn from Forsayth, Einsaleigh, Mt Isa, Mt Garnet, as well as local and coastal areas.

Bullocks: 244   Heifers: 114     Cows: 299     Bulls: 69

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted unchanged, Heifers were 10¢ easier, Cows were 5¢ dearer, and Bulls were 5¢ easier on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 502¢/kg for a pen of 12 Ox on a/c Laroona Pastoral that weighed 536kg to return $2,690/hd.
  • Best Priced trade Heifers were presented on a/c Brown Pasturefed Beef that sold for 488¢/kg, weighing 387kg to return $1,890/hd.
  • The top pen of cows were sold by C Gilmore, for 416¢/kg, weighing 592kg to return $2,463 per head.
  • Bulls sold on a/c Colinta Holdings, topped at 370¢/kg and weighed 602kg, to return $2,227 per head.

Store Quotes: Store cattle were in strong demand again this week, selling to similar rates as last week’s store sale. There were a few runs of steers and heifers selling to very strong rates.

  • A run of 160 Brangus steers a/c Rushel Produce made 852¢/kg and weighed 173kg to return $1,475 per head.
