CHARTERS TOWERS STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – FRIDAY 20TH JUNE 2025
Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 3,155 Store Cattle consisting of 1,216 Steers, 588 Mickeys, 1,345 Heifers and 6 Cows & Calves.
The majority of the store cattle consisted of smaller, mixed lots, apart from the two major lines of northern mickeys and a large consignment of western heifers. Younger crossbred cattle were in strong demand. Good competition on all categories across the board. The yarding was drawn from Camooweal, Mt Isa, Burketown, Chillagoe, Normanton, Croydon, Hughenden, as well as local and coastal areas.

- A pen of 7 steers A/C D Newnham, Charters Towers made 304c/kg and weighed 419kg, returning an average of $1,273 per head.
- A pen of 6 steers A/C GL & TL Cook, Japoonvale made 440c/kg, weighed 178kg, to return $783 per head.
- A very good line of 130 Brahman X steers A/C Inverleigh Pastoral Co, Normanton averaged 340c/kg, weighing an average of 240kg, to return $818 per head.
- A pen of 9 mickeys A/C John Thomas, Townsville made 370c/kg, weighed 263kg, to return $974 per head.
- A very good line of 253 Brahman Mickeys A/C Inverleigh Pastoral Co, Normanton averaged 325c/kg, weighing an average of 197kg, returning $643 per head.
- A good pen of 18 heifers on A/C The Rocks Farming, Ayr made in 316c/kg, weighed 241kg, returning $761 per head.
- A very good line of 329 Brahman X heifers A/C Inverleigh Pastoral Co, Normanton averaged 275c/kg, weighing an average of 194kg, returning $535 per head.
- A very good line of 435 Brahman X heifers A/C LW & NL Miller, Camooweal averaged 283c/kg, weighing an average of 231kg, returning $655 per head.
- Cows and calved were in limited supply making up to $850 per unit.
