GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER 2024
Combined agents at Gracemere this week yarded a total of 2980 head consisting of 1436 steers, 1072 heifers, 379 cows, 25 cows & calves, 22 bulls & 44 mickeys. As a whole the market improved by around 30 cents overall with most categories increasing significantly. Weaner steers today sold for an average of 327c/kg & reached a top price of 430c/kg. Feeder steers sold for an average of 333c/kg and got up to a top price of 351c/kg. Weaner heifers were averaging 250c/kg, with a top price in the category of 286c/kg. Feeder heifers sold well this week to average 297c/kg, & reached a top price of 362c/kg. The cow market here today averaged 249c/kg, with a top price of 300c/kg. The bull market held firm this week, & the cow & calf market softened slightly.
