GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 28TH AUGUST 2024
Combined agents at Gracemere this week yarded a total of 3292 head consisting of 1652 steers, 1139 heifers, 346 cows, 30 cows & calves, 23 bulls & 102 mickeys. Cattle were drawn from as far North as Charters Towers & Mackay, as well as most local areas. With a good quality yarding seen here today, prices in most categories held firm on the previous week. The weaner steer market saw an average price of 310c/kg with a top price of 398c/kg. Feeder steers today averaged 333c/kg to top out at 372c/kg. Weaner heifers averaged 249c/kg & reached a top price of 358c/kg. The feeder heifer market was strong here today, 23 cents better than last week. Feeder heifers averaged 259c/kg & reached a top price of 358c/kg. The cow market was very strong this week, 22 cents better than last week. Cows averaged 259c/kg and reached up to 287c/kg.
