GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2024
Combined agents at Gracemere this week yarded a total of 2197 head consisting of 963 steers, 758 heifers, 328 cows, 39 cows & calves, 37 bulls, &74 mickeys. The sale was stronger across the board this week with the total sale averaging 300c/kg, & very good quality lines of cattle presented for sale. Weaner steers averaged 331c/kg with a top price of 398c/kg. Feeder steers were very similar to average 330c/kg and reached up to 372c/kg for the best pen. Weaner heifers sold for an average of 252c/kg with the best pen reaching up to 294c/kg. Feeder heifers sold well to average 292c/kg with a top price of 309c/kg. The cow market was strong here today with an average of 251c/kg and a top price of 278c/kg. Good competition was seen on bulls with an average of 252c/kg. Cows & calves were very consistent as well with an average of $1352 per unit.
