INVERELL CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 14TH JUNE 2022

  • Yarding Numbers: 745
  • Location: Inverell
  • Date: June 14, 2022

Numbers reduced slightly to offer a penning which featured a very good offering of cows, however the younger cattle saw drafts of plainer conditioned types which did affect the averages in
some categories. Not all exporters participated, also a heavy feeder heifer buyer was absent. Most other buyers attended on a slightly restricted basis. Restocker orders saw a little more competition. Weaner steers and heifers sold to cheaper trends, mostly to restockers, but on a restricted basis. Both weaner categories seeing substantial changes in the negative. There were drafts of light steer weaners which did see a slight positive in sales.

Light feeder steers sold to cheaper trends, back 11c/kg, the medium weight more so with plainer quality drafts causing averages to be lower. Similarly light and medium weight feeder heifers saw reductions of 6c/kg. Again quality affected. The heavy heifers also saw a reduction in trends owing to the absence of an operator. Heavy grown steers to process, for the most part saw cheaper trends, as did the heifer sales, although not many on offer.

Medium weight cows sold to a dearer trend, up 12c/kg. The bulk of the correction was through the heavy cows. Three and four score cows back 17c/kg to 20c/kg. Heavy cows with an extension of fat cover also saw cheaper trends with the absence of major exporters. P.T.I.C cows to the paddock and cows to feed on sold to competitive trends.
