Agents yarded 750 in Murgon for the sale of October 1st.
All values remained relatively firm on the last sale. The quality of the store cattle yarded was slightly down on the previous market. Heavy Bulls sold to $2.85 per kilogram and $2620.00. Bullocks sold to $3.21 c/kg and $2050.00. Heavy Cows over 500 kg topped at $2.75 per kilogram and $1750.00 averaging $2.70 cents per kilo. Cows 400 to 500 kg sold to a top of $2.80 per kilogram for $1340.00. Cows up to 400 kg topped at $2.40 c/kg & $910.00. Export heifers sold to $3.29 per kilogram for $1825.00. Cattle were drawn from Gayndah, Mundubbera, Yarraman, Nanango, Kingaroy, Proston, Kilkivan and locally.
Droughtmaster steers 430 kg from Nanango sold for $1570.00 at $3.65 c/kg. Local Charbray steers weighing 408 kg sold to $1470.00 at $3.61 c/kg. 450 kg Charolais steers sold for $1620.00 at $3.60 c/kg. Angus steers from Goomeri weighing 360 kg sold for $1340.00 and $3.74 c/kg. 300 kg Charolais cross steers from Manyung sold to $3.88 c/kg and $1160.00. Charolais cross weaner steers from Proston sold to $1200.00 at $3.87 c/kg. 2 pens of Santa steers from Gayndah sold for $3.87 c/kg, topping at $925.00. Angus weaner steers from Proston sold for $850.00 at $3.86 c/kg. Local Charbray heifers 340 kg sold for $2.80 c/kg to return $960.00. 390 kg Droughtmaster cross heifers from Proston sold for $1100.00 at $2.80 c/kg. 2 pens of Brangus/Speckled Park heifers from Durong sold for $2.69 c/kg topping at $1060.00. 2 pens of Droughtmaster cross heifers from Windera sold for $2.69 c/kg for $923.00 & $837.00. Charbray heifers from Tansey weighing 286 kg sold for $3.24 c/kg returning $930.00. Santa heifers from Gayndah sold for $2.93 c/kg for $890.00 & $820.00. Angus cross weaner heifers from Redgate sold for $3.18 c/kg and $790.00. Simmental cross weaner heifers from Nanango sold for $815.00 at $3.04 c/kg.
