ROMA STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2024

A total of 8,940 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 310c/kg and averaged 269c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 420c/kg and averaged 375c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 390c/kg and averaged 350c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 388c/kg and averaged 340c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 382c/kg and averaged 356c/kg.

SJ Todd Constructions Pty Ltd, Parknook sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 420c/kg, reaching a top of $1,134 to average $1,122. The Angus cross heifers sold to 314c/kg, reaching a top of $806 to average $798.

Deane Grazing Company, Malboona Station, Corfield sold Droughtmaster steers to 406c/kg, reaching a top of $1,305 to average $1,005.  The Droughtmaster heifers sold to 312c/kg, reaching a top of $1,892 to average $640.  The Droughtmaster cows sold to 292c/kg, reaching a top of $1,919 to average $1,490.

BJ & PC Harrison, Bungaringa, Mitchell sold Angus cross steers to 390c/kg, reaching a top of $1,276 to average $1,270.

Heifers under 200kg topped at 290c/kg and averaged 228c/kg, while heifers in the 200-280kg range topped at 330c/kg and averaged 269c/kg. Heifers in the 280-330kg range topped at 324c/kg, averaging 260c/kg. Heifers in the 330-400kg range topped at 340c/kg, averaging 266c/kg. Heifers in the 400-500kg range topped at 310c/kg, averaging 272c/kg.
