Following the widespread rain event over the weekend agents at Warwick penned 872 head down by 440. All the regular processors and feeder buyers attended along with local wholesalers and restockers. Quality yearling cattle sold to firm prices with export lines easing from 2c to 7c/kg.
Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to restockers made 360c to average 328c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to restockers sold to 392c and averaged 329c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made 376c to average 348c with restockers paying to 384c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed averaged 341c and sold to 383c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to background made 308c to average 272c/kg. Yearling heifers over 280kg to feed made 328c to average 281c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made 378c to average 303c/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to feed made 336c with those to the wholesale meat trade at 327c/kg.
Bullocks to processors made 339c to average from 330c to 334c/kg. Grown heifers to processors made 325c to average 309c.kg. Light weight cows to processors made 240c to average 235c/kg. Heavy score 2 cows sold to 265c and averaged 254c/kg. Good heavy cows to processors topped at 295c to average from 273c to 280c/kg. Medium weight bulls to processors made 320c to average 305c with heavy bulls at 303c to average 277c/kg. Cows and calves sold to a top of $1440/head.
