WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 20TH JULY 2022

Numbers rose to 1,280 at Warwick with 954 lambs and 326 grown sheep. The yarding was dominated by store lambs showing the effects of the cold wet season with only a small penning of suitable trade and butcher classes on offer, with most lines selling to cheaper prices depending on quality. The regular trade and feeder buyers were present along with a panel of restockers.

Young lambs to restockers made $130 to average $113/head. Light lambs to feeder operators averaged $131 and sold to $142/head. Lambs in the 20-22kg range to butchers made $191 to average $181/head. The best trade weight lambs to wholesalers made $190 to average $182/head.

Hoggets to the wholesale meat trade made $144 to average $132/head. Ewes to processors made $154 with those to restockers selling to $160/head. Light weight merino wethers to restockers made $40/head. Rams to processors sold to $122/head.
