WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 3RD JULY 2022

Following the cheaper prices of last week numbers reduced to 856 sheep and lambs at Warwick. With the return of one export processor prices for heavy and trade lambs lifted on these lines. The restockers were also keen to purchase replacement stock with the female portion of the yarding regaining some of last weeks losses also pushed along by the feeder operators.

Young lambs to restockers made $111 to average $108/head. Light weight lambs to feeder buyers averaged $133 and sold to $135 with the lambs in the 22kg range again to feeder operators selling to $160 and averaging $147/head. Lambs to the wholesale meat trade made $166 to average $157/head. Lambs in the 26-30kg range to processors sold to $172 and averaged $167 with the ewe portion returning to the paddock at $177/head.

Hoggets to the local wholesale meat trade made $130 to average $118/head. A line of dorper ewes met strong competition from restockers selling to $175/head. Good heavy wethers to the local meat trade averaged $109 and sold to $121/head. Several dorper rams found new homes at $180/head.
