Warwick Sheep Sale Market Report – Wednesday 3rd June 2020

  • Yarding Numbers: 1,100
  • Location: Warwick
  • Date: June 3, 2020

Numbers were similar to last day with 900 lambs and 200 grown sheep. There was a shortage of heavy lambs, with the trade and heavy trade taking their place to see those categories sell to a very strong demand from all operators. Store buyers were also strong in the competition. Restockers clashed strongly with processors to secure lots, both ewes and wethers, culminating in a strong demand throughout. Restockers paid to $211/head for Dorper ewe lambs. Light trade lambs made to $204, with trade lambs selling to a strong trend of $13 more for crossbreds and up to $30/head dearer for Dorpers. A lack of weight through the hogget penning saw a slight decline in value. Heavy trade ewes sold to $220/head, with restockers competing strongly on both ewes and wethers. Wethers saw rises of up to $28 for medium weights and $30/head for light weights due to restocker competition.
