WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 5TH JUNE 2024

Total Yarding: 1868 (+146) | Sheep Yarding: 782 (+31) | Lamb Yarding: 1086 (+115)

The supply of stock was up by 146 to 1,086 lambs and 782 grown sheep Warwick. All the usual processors attended however due to the lack of suitable heavy lambs one failed to operate despite this the suitable trade and store lambs all sold to a dearer trend which followed on to the grown sheep penned.

Light weight lambs to restockers improved by $6 and sold from $52 to $69/head. Young lambs in the 18-20kg range to restockers sold from $74 to $79 with those to feed selling from $89 to $92/head. Lambs in the 20-22kg range to processors sold from $128 to $150 up by $9/head. Lambs to the local wholesale meat trade gained $15 and sold from $151 to $180/head. Heavy dorper and crossbred lambs to processors sold from $167 to $200 up by $10/head. Extra heavy lambs sold to $240/head.

Increased numbers of hoggets to processors sold from $90 to $115/head. Light weight ewes to processors improved by $4 and sold from $41 to $77 with the heavy ewes at $80 to $115/head. Light weight merino wethers to restockers sold from $43 to $50 with heavy wethers to process at $115/head. Rams to processors sold from $63 to $106/head.
