GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2024
Combined agents at Gracemere this week yarded a total of 4091 head consisting of 2366 steers, 1341 heifers, 308 cows, 22 cows & calves, 21 bulls, & 33 mickeys. The market softened at Gracemere by about 14 cents overall, which presented some really good buying opportunities.
Weaner steers averaged 290c/kg with the best getting up to 368c/kg. Feeder steers today averaged 308c/kg to make it up 358c/kg. Weaner heifers averaged 230c/kg to reach a top price of 310c/kg. Feeder heifers averaged 254c/kg with a top price of 305c/kg. Cows averaged 242c/kg with the best making it up to 296c/kg. Cows & calves sold to an average of $1256 per unit, and the bull market averaged 246c/kg.
