WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2025
Total Yarding: 2,968 (+518) | Sheep Yarding: 1,167 (+42) | Lamb Yarding: 1,801 (+476)
Warwick agents penned a total of 2,968 head with an even balance of lambs and grown sheep. All the usual buyers attended and competed strongly on the trade and heavy lambs with prices improving on most lines, store and feeder lambs received strong competition as did the heavy mutton which sold firm to dearer trends.
Light weight young lambs, to restockers sold from $82 to $91/head. Young lambs over 18kg to the wholesale meat trade sold from $94 to $117/head. Older lambs in the 18-20kg range to feed, sold from $100 to $114, with those to the butcher market at $100 to$129/head. Lambs in the 20-22kg range to the wholesale meat trade, sold from $139 to $168/head. Trade weight lambs to processors sold from $165 to $206, with the heavy lambs to processors at $182 to $210/head.
Hoggets to processors sold from $95 to $142/head. Light weight ewes to processors sold from $20 to $55, with merino ewes at $40 to $45/head. Heavy ewes to processors sold from $63 to $132/head. Merino wethers sold to $92, with the dorper wethers at $100 to $132/head. Ram lambs to the butcher trade sold from $91 to $138/head. Rams to processors sold from $49 to $54/head.
