WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 19TH FEBRUARY 2025
Total Yarding: 2,236 (-732) | Sheep Yarding: 751 (-416) | Lamb Yarding: 1,485 (-316)
Warwick agents penned 2,236 lambs and grown sheep. All the regular buyers attended and competed strongly on all the prime lambs and grown sheep, which resulted in prices remaining firm to dearer for the better finished lambs and mutton, while store lambs back to the paddock sold close to last weeks improved rates.
Young lambs in the 12-16kg range to restockers sold from $51 to $92 with those overs 16kg at $75 to $98/head. Older lambs to restockers sold from $90 to $121/head. Light weight butcher lambs sold from $140 to $188/head. Trade weight lambs to the wholesale market sold from $149 to $198/head. Heavy trade lambs to processors sold from $194 to $215 with the best heavy lambs topping at $240/head.
Light weight hoggets to restockers sold from $52 to $60 with the heavy hoggets to processors at $83 to $150/head. Light weight merino ewes to processors sold from $20 to $54 with dorper ewes at $30 to $47/head. Heavy ewes to processors sold from $68 to $128/head. Merino wethers to processors sold to $84 with dorper wethers at $84 to $120/head. Rams to processors sold from $60 to $108 with restockers paying from $150 to $200/head.
