WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 5TH MARCH 2025
Total Yarding: 1,660 (-292) | Sheep Yarding: 568 (-466) | Lamb Yarding: 1,092 (+174)
Warwick agents penned 1,092 lambs and 568 grown sheep of mixed quality. All the usual processors and wholesalers attended along with feeder operators and restockers. Prices for the processor lambs could not maintain last weeks dearer rates and eased by $4 to $8/head, while quality young lambs back to the paddock sold to dearer trends.
Young lambs to restockers sold from $76 to $116/head. Older lambs in the 18-20kg lambs to feed sold from $98 to $108 with those to butchers at $115 to $124/head. Lambs in the 22-24kg range to the wholesale meat trade sold from $136 to $198/head. Heavy trade lambs to processors sold from $184 to $211 with the best heavy lambs at $240/head.
Hoggets to processors sold from $90 to $140/head. Crossbred ewes to processors sold from $80 to $100 with dorper ewes topping at $132/head. Merino wethers to processors sold from $64 to $90 with crossbred and dorper wethers at $70 to $132/head. Ram lambs to the butcher trade sold to $150 and older rams at $48 to $97/head.
