WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 7TH MAY 2025
Total Yarding: 2,465 (+904) | Sheep Yarding: 941 (+306) | Lamb Yarding: 1,524 (+598)
Agents at Warwick penned 1,524 lambs and 941 mutton. The overall lamb yarding was mixed with prime lambs in short supply resulting in dearer prices of $5 to $25/head. The extra numbers of young store lambs received spirited bidding from the feeder and restocker buyers lifting prices. Increased buyer attendance across the mutton lines resulted in gains up to $40/head.
Young lambs under 12kg to restockers sold from $66 to $78/head. Young lambs in the 16-18kg range to restockers sold from $86 to $139 with those over 20kg to the butcher trade topping at $196/head. Older lambs in the 16-20kg range to feeder buyers sold from $100 to $140/head. Light weight butcher lambs sold from $159 to $181/head. Lambs in the 20-22kg range to the wholesale trade sold from $140 to $201/head. Trade weight crossbred and dorper lambs to processors sold from $170 to $248/head.
Hoggets dearer selling from $110 to $199/head. Light weight merino ewes with skin to restockers sold from $38 to $60/head. Light weight dorper ewes to processors sold from $36 to $102 with the heavy ewes at $130 to $222/head. Wethers to processors sold from $99 to $217/head. Ram lambs to the butcher trade sold from $140 to $230/head. Rams to processors sold from $80 to $120/head.
