EMERALD CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – THURSDAY 5TH JUNE 2025
Following the feature sale on Tuesday, Emerald combined agents presented a much smaller yarding of 550 head; predominately processor cattle for today’s weekly sale. All processors were represented, and all played a part in getting their selection in a market firm to a touch cheaper. There was only a very small sample of feeder, yearling or weaner cattle, too few to accurately quote.
Bullocks in better numbers made to 325c to average 314c up 9c on the back of improved numbers and finish. Cows over 520kg sold to 278c to average 265c back 5c after a heavy gain last week, cows 450-520kg in lesser numbers topped at 278c to average 251c back 13c, cows under 450kg were not quoted. Heifers over 400kg selling to processors peaked at 306c to average 287c back 11c. Bulls over 600kg too few to quote reached 256c.
There were not enough steers or heifers under 500kg to draw conclusion to accurately quote.
1 pen of younger cows with Wagyu calves at foot made $1,375 per unit.
