CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 16TH JULY 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,208 Prime cattle. The cattle consisted of 205 Bullocks, 535 Heifers, 1,252 Cows and 216 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of fewer Bullocks, a larger line of prime Heifers and a lighter line of well finished Cows than were presented last week. The yarding was drawn from Mount Isa, Richmond, Hughenden, Burketown, Normanton, Georgetown, Ingham as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted unchanged, Heifers were 10¢ easier, Cows were 10¢ easier and Bulls were unchanged on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 316¢/kg for 19 3 Ox sold on A/c EJT & KL Camp, “Floraville”, Burketown that weighed 502kg to return $1,585 per head.
  • Best Priced trade Heifers were presented on A/c GA & WL Collins, “Cotonvale”, Prairie that sold for 296¢/kg and weighed 485kg to return $1,435 per head.
  • The top pen of Cows were sold by A/c GA & WL Collins, “Cotonvale”, Prairie for 285¢/kg, weighing 640kg to return $1,824 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/c G Keilar, “Jardineview” Prairie topped at 316¢/kg and weighed 690kg, to return $2,181 per head.
