EMERALD CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – THURSDAY 28TH AUGUST 2025

Emerald combined agents yarded just shy of 2,000 head in their weekly Prime and Store sale. Southern buyers continue to drive the fat price with improvements in the bull and cow lines. The most ground made on the day was the weaner heifers. Bulls over 600kg sold for 352c/kg to average 295c/kg. Bullocks over 500kg sold to 404c/kg to average 389c/kg. Cows over 520kg sold to 374c/kg to average 343c/kg. Fat heifers sold to 380c/kg, feeder steers sold to 446c/kg with too few others to quote. Weaner steers sold to 498c/kg to average 440c/kg. Feeder heifers sold to 396c/kg to average 365c/kg. While  weaner heifers sold to 492c/kg to average 361c/kg.
