WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER 2025

The penning of cattle at Warwick increased by 300 head to 1,597. All the regular buyers attended and operated on a very strong market for yearling steers and heifers to background and feed. Medium and heavy weight feeder steers sold to dearer trends as did the grown steers to processors, with the plainer heavy cows 7c to 20c dearer, and the good heavy cows firm on last week.

Yearling steers in the 200-280kg range to restockers sold to 566c/kg. Yearling steers over 280kg to background made 554c to average 503c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made 490c to average 468c/kg. Heavy yearling steers to feed made 500c to average 469c/kg. Yearling heifers in the 200-280kg range to background made 454c to average 407c/kg. Yearling heifers over 280kg to feed sold to 428c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made 424c to average 398c/kg.

Grown steers 400-500kg range to feed made 470c to average 443c/kg. Young bullocks to processors made 440c to average 416c/kg. Grown heifers to processors sold to 418c and averaged 387c/kg. Light weight plain conditioned cows to restockers made 306c, with those to processors at 326c to average 280c/kg. Heavy score 2 and 3 cows to processors sold to 368c to average from 314c to 344c/kg. Good heavy cows average 376c an sold to a top of 399c/kg. Light weight bulls to processors sold to 400c/kg. Heavy bulls to processors made 386c to average 354c/kg.
