Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 3,093 Prime cattle consisting of 1,009 Bullocks, 441 Heifers, 1,427 Cows and 216 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of some good lines of well finished Bullocks and Cows with all finished types selling strong with lighter conditioned cattle receiving mixed competition. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Burketown, Normanton, Croydon, Cloncurry, Julia Creek, Richmond, Mt Garnet, Tully, Clermont, Einasleigh as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted 5-10¢ dearer, Heifers were unchanged, Cows were 10-15¢ easier, and Bulls were 20-40¢ dearer on last week’s rates.

• Bullocks topped at 402.2¢/kg for 15 Bullocks sold on A/c L & M Miller, “Undilla Station”, Camooweal that weighed 550kg to return $2,212 per head.

• Best Priced trade Heifers were presented on A/c G & S Spurdle, “Linden Hills”, Mingela that sold for 360.2¢/kg, and weighed 459kg to return $1,653 per head.

• The top pen of Cows were sold by A/c C & J Haydon, “Wyoming Station”, Hughenden for 358.2¢/kg, weighing 437kg to return $1,565 per head.

• Bulls sold on A/c Cattle JV, “Mutton Hole”, Normanton topped at 398.2¢/kg and weighed 707kg, to return $2,815 per head.
