Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,231 Prime cattle consisting of 579 Bullocks, 454 Heifers, 869 Cows and 329 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of another quality yarding of prime cattle with most categories selling to a firm or slightly dearer trend with all regular processors in attendance and active. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Hughenden, Mt Garnett, Georgetown, Einasleigh, as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted 5-7¢ dearer, Heifers were 12¢ dearer, Cows were 5¢ dearer and Bulls were unchanged on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 420¢/kg which sold on A/c AJ & MA Spurdle, that weighed 661kg to return $2,776 per head.
  • Best Priced Feeder Heifers were presented on A/c ER Slacksmith that sold for 374¢/kg and weighed 392kg to return $1,466 per head.
  • Best Priced Trade Heifers were presented on A/c Renkel Past that sold for 366¢/kg and weighed 518kg to return $1,895 per head.
  • The top pen of Cows were sold by A/c SJ & RJ Neal, for 382¢/kg, weighing 630kg to return $2,407 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/c Department of Primary Industries topped at 406¢/kg and weighed 831kg, to return $3,373 per head.
