DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER 2025
The supply of cattle into Dalby remained relatively close to the previous week’s level at 6,634 head, with 812 cows and just under 400 bulls included in the lineup. The regular panel of export buyers, including some southern operators, were active across the market, while a fair line-up of feeder and restocker buyers were selective in their purchases. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock could not maintain the levels of the previous sale, while medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced only quality-related price changes. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock lost 18c to 20c/kg, whereas medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed were firm to 10c/kg better. Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to a firm market. The top price for cows remained unchanged, although average prices varied according to quality. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 590c, with most sales from 495c to 496c/kg.
