CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 15TH OCTOBER 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 3,240 cattle consisting of 2,392 prime cattle and 848 store cattle. The prime cattle consisted of 553 bullocks, 617 heifers, 912 cows and 310 bulls. The store cattle consisted of 394 steers, 445 heifers and 9 x 9 cows and calves.

Cattle comprised of another mixed yarding, consisting of isolated pens of well-finished bullocks and cows as well as two larger runs of prime heifers selling to a competitive buying panel. Store cows and plainer condition type cattle continued to ease. The yarding was drawn from Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Julia Creek, Richmond, Georgetown, Einasleigh as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes:

Bullocks were quoted 5¢ easier, heifers were 8¢ dearer, Cows were 10¢ easier and bulls were unchanged on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 414¢/kg A/c LG Grazing that weighed 545kg to return to $2,257 per head.
  • Best priced trade heifers were presented A/c G & W Collins that sold for 380¢/kg and weighed 448kg return to $1,705 per head.
  • The top pen of cows were sold by LG Grazing for 350¢/kg weighing 498kg to return $1,742 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/c Byron Remfrey topped 340¢/kg and weighed 602kg to return $2,048 per head

  • A good run of 127 Weaner Heifers A/c Condon Grazing Pty Ltd & LJ Condon, “Conjuboy”, Mt Garnet sold for 364¢/kg, to weigh 179kg and return $654 per head.
  • Cows and Calves sold from a range of $200 – $750 per unit.
