CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 29TH OCTOBER 2025
Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,799 cattle, consisting of 1,862 prime cattle and 937 store cattle. The prime cattle consisted of 267 bullocks, 116 heifers, 1,250 cows and 229 bulls. The store cattle consisted of 362 steers, 266 mickeys, 294 heifers and 15 cows and calves.
Cattle comprised of a good quality yarding of heavy prime cattle, with a large offering of 1,250 cows. All regular processors, exporters and feedlot operators were in attendance, with all categories selling to a dearer trend. The yarding was drawn from Mount Isa, Maxwelton, Richmond, Hughenden, Georgetown, Einasleigh and Croydon, as well as local and coastal areas.
Prime Quotes:
Bullocks were quoted 5c dearer, heifers were 12-15c dearer, cows were 10-15c dearer, bulls were firm on last week’s rates.

- Bullocks topped at 430c/kg on A/c Lennox Family Acc. Partners, Homestead, weighing 550kg to return $2,366 per head.
- Best priced trade heifers were presented on A/c Landers Creek Pastoral Co, Ayr, selling for 390c/kg, weighing 362kg to return $1,412 per head.
- The top pen of cows sold on A/c Wayne Hart, Rangewood, for 390c/kg, weighing 590kg to return $2,302 per head.
- Heavy bulls on A/c MI McClymont topped at 356c/kg, weighing 722kg to return $2,571 per head.

Store cattle comprised of a reduced mixed quality yarding, with the exception of one large offering of western bred Droughtmaster steers and heifers.

- A run of 126 good quality Droughtmaster steers A/c BM Entriken, Richmond, made 426c/kg, weighing an average of 253kg, to return an average of $1,081 per head.
- Mickeys sold on A/c Brian Moody, Mingela, topped at 372c/kg, to average 380kg and return $1,414 per head.
- A good pen of 14 heifers on A/c BM Entriken, Richmond, sold for 340c/kg, weighing 324kg to return $1,100 per head.
- 15 cows and calves ranged from $425 to $1,200 per unit.
