CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 26TH NOVEMBER 2025
Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 3,334 cattle, consisting of 2,409 Prime cattle & 925 Store cattle. The Prime cattle consisted of 630 Bullocks, 486 Heifers, 993 Cows and 300 Bulls. The Store section consisted of 349 Steers, 181 Mickeys, 395 Heifers and 47 X 47 Cows & Calves.
With an increased yarding of 3,334 head, cattle comprised of some good pens of well finished Ox, Heifers and Cows penned, with also 300 Bulls on offer. The Market softened in some categories with not all processors in attendance. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Julia Creek, Richmond, Hughenden, Forsayth, Georgetown, Chillagoe, Einasleigh as well as local and coastal areas.
Prime Quotes: Bullocks remained firm, Heifers were 10¢ easier, Cows were 5-8 ¢ easier, and Bulls were 10¢ easier on last week’s rates.

- Bullocks topped at 474¢/kg for 7 Ox sold on A/c RD & LA French, “Gilberton”, Einasleigh that weighed 589kg to return $2,791 per head.
- Best Priced trade Heifers were presented on A/c JC & RM Crozier, Hughenden that sold for 408¢/kg and weighed 462kg to return $1,885 per head.
- The top pen of Cows was sold by on A/c SD & SR Christensen, Hughenden for 412¢/kg, weighing 593kg to return $2,442 per head.
- Bulls sold on A/c Burge Grazing, made 370 ¢/kg, to average 800kg, returning $2,962 per head.
Store Quotes: Store cattle consisted of a generally mixed quality yarding, with some isolated pens of good quality Weaners on offer which sold to good competition.

- A pen of 10 Steers on A/C RD & LA French, “Gilberton”, Einasleigh made 460¢/kg and weighed 187kg, returning an average of $860 per head.
- A good pen of 10 Heifers on A/C E Atkinson, Prairie made 394¢/kg weighed 256kg returning $1,009 per head.
- 29 X 29 Cows & Calves sold on A/C Jonathan Shannon, made $1,400 per unit.
