EMERALD CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – THURSDAY 11TH DECEMBER 2025

Emerald Combined Agents yarded 1,292 head for the final sale of 2025. Cattle were drawn from all local areas in a very mixed yarding that lacked any real consistency or lines in most categories. There were only limited numbers of prime cattle penned, most classes to few to quote, which aided a softer market throughout. Bullocks sold to 410c/kg, cows over 520kg peaked at 370c/kg, heifers over 400kg to processors topped at around 400c/kg, those to feed making 412c/kg. Feeder steers of better quality or with plenty of compensatory gain sold well with sales to 512c/kg. Feeder heifers peaked at 438c/kg, with most sales not exceeding 420c/kg, with heifers 350-400kg averaging 392c/kg. In the lighter classes, buyers were selective and secondary lots, most noted in the steer classes, struggled to find any level of competition noted in the averages. Weaner steers 200-280kg topped at 512c/kg to average 435c/kg, whilst heifers 200-280kg reached a high of 432c/kg to average 335c/kg. Two pens of vendor bred Brangus cows and calves sold to $1,830.
