ROMA STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 7TH APRIL 2026

A total of 3,968 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 530c/kg and averaged 495c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 546c/kg and averaged 490c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 542c/kg and averaged 484c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 524c/kg and averaged 464c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 488c/kg and averaged 431c/kg.

Heifers under 200kg topped at 396c/kg and averaged 338c/kg, while heifers in the 200-280kg range topped at 406c/kg and averaged 354c/kg. Heifers in the 280-330kg range topped at 406c/kg, averaging 350c/kg. Heifers in the 330-400kg range topped at 406c/kg, averaging 346c/kg. Heifers in the 400-500kg range topped at 376c/kg, averaging 336c/kg.

Cows in the 330-400kg range reached 290c/kg and averaged 236c/kg. Cows in the 400-500kg range topped at 334c/kg, averaging 289c/kg. Cows in the 500-600kg range topped at 340c/kg, averaging 322c/kg. Cows over 600kg topped at 345c/kg, averaging 332c/kg.

Freeman Pastoral Company, Miley View, Roma sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 546c/kg, reaching a top of $1,299 to average $1,124.  The Angus cross heifers sold to 406c/kg, reaching a top of $978 to average $848.

Bangor Cattle Co, Bangor, Mungallala sold Charolais steers to 546c/kg, reaching a top of $1,378 to average $1,201.  The Charolais heifers sold to 362c/kg, reaching a top of $760c/kg to average $673.

JC & M Todd, Burren Burren, Collarenebri sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 542c/kg, reaching a top of $1,727 to average $1,437.  The Charolais cross cows sold to 340c/kg, reaching a top of $2,106 to average $1,837.

Lowan Hills Pastoral Co, Lowan Hills, Mitchell sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 538c/kg, reaching a top of $1,925 to average $1,651.  The Santa Gertrudis cross heifers sold to 404c/kg, reaching a top of $1,684 to average $1,208.
