DALBY CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 15TH APRIL 2026

Dalby cattle numbers lifted sharply this week to 9,009 head, up 5,005 on the previous sale, with cow numbers also increasing to 2,101 head. A fair panel of export buyers attended and operated, though not all regular feed and trade buyers were present, resulting in a generally cheaper trend across most classes. Lightweight yearling steers to restockers lost 20c to 30c/kg, while well-bred lines maintained fair demand. Medium and heavyweight yearling steers to feed were less affected, easing 3c to 7c/kg. Lightweight yearling heifers to restockers dropped 30c to 40c/kg, with poorer quality lines hardest hit, while medium and heavyweight heifers to feed eased 6c to 14c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows were over 20c/kg cheaper, while heavy weight classes saw little change. Lightweight yearling steers to restockers made to 492c/kg, averaging 452c to 455c/kg. Yearling steers to feed reached 538c/kg, with most between 446c and 462c/kg, while heavyweights averaged around 454c/kg. Lightweight heifers to restockers mostly sold from 300c to 310c/kg, with isolated sales to 363c/kg. Medium weight heifers to feed averaged 337c to 384c/kg, with sales to 446c/kg, and heavyweights made to 438c/kg, averaging 391c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export made to 415c/kg and bullocks to 430c/kg, averaging 404c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 260c/kg, while heavy 3 score cows averaged 317c/kg and made to 370c/kg to average 354c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 402c/kg.
