CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 10TH JUNE 2026
Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 2,789 Prime Cattle. Consisting of 365 Bullocks. 363 Heifers, 1,938 Cows and 123 Bulls
Cattle comprised of a small line of well finished HGP-treated bullocks. A good supply of trade heifers, large runs of well finished medium-weight cows and the usual offering of bulls. The increase in numbers offered combined with a decline in weight and quality contributed to a slightly cheaper market trend. Despite this, a full panel of buyers remained active ensuring competition stayed strong.
The yarding was drawn from Cloncurry, Camooweal, Einasleigh, Forsayth, Georgetown, Hughenden, Normanton, Greenvale, as well as local and coastal areas.

Bullocks were quoted 10-15c/kg easier, Heifers unchanged, Cows we 10-15c/kg easier and Bulls were 10-15c/kg easier on last weeks rates.

- HGP treated bullocks sold on A/c SP Grazing, “Spring Park” Charters Towers made 390.2c/kg that weighed 665kg to return $2,593/hd
- Best priced trade Heifers were presented on A/c Ashley Smith “Strathroy Station” Hughenden that sold for 396.2c/kg and weighed 526kg to return $2,085/hd
- The top pen of Cows were sold by PH Milton, “Kalanda” Mt Fox for 388.2c/kg, weighing 562kg to return $2,185/hd
- A Bull sold on A/c PM Pastoral, Curtis Rd Karruchan, topped at 376.2c/kg and weighed 495kg to return $1,862
