WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 18TH AUGUST 2026
Total Yarding: 1,332 (+341)
Ongoing dry seasonal conditions contributed to a larger yarding at Warwick, with numbers increasing by 341 head to 1,332. The yarding was dominated by plain condition cows supported by a mixed quality line up of feeder cattle across a range of categories. The regular panel of export buyers plus feed and restocker operators were in attendance and operating.
An improvement in the quality of light weight yearling steers and heifers resulted in higher average prices. Yearling steers and heifers to feed sold to a strong market for the quality penned. All classes of cows sold to a market very similar to the previous week. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged from 493c to 500c with sales to 576c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market sold to 520c with most sales from 478c to 484c/kg. A small selection of heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 470c and averaged 449c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged 391c with some well bred lines making 472c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 410c to 430c with the very occasional sale to 546c/kg. A few bullocks made to 468c and averaged 444c/kg. Heavy grown heifers sold to 434c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows in the largest numbers averaged 306c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 355c and the best of the cows averaged 377c with the occasional sale to 395c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 460c/kg.
