WARWICK SHEEP SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2026

The supply of stock at Warwick remained stable with agents penning 1,213 lambs and 747 grown sheep. The regular buyers attended however one processor did not operate because of shutdown due to plant maintenance. An increase in quality of the young lambs resulted in prices lifting from $2 to $35/head for restocker lines. Trade weight lambs to the wholesale meat trade sold to dearer trends of $2 to $4/head. Heavy processor lambs and mutton all sold to easier prices of $7 to $25/head.

Young lambs in the 12-16kg range to restockers sold from $104 to $167 with those over 16 kg at $121 to $178/head. Young lambs in the 18-20kg range to the butcher trade sold from $184 to $200 with those over 20kg topping at $271/head. Older lambs to the wholesale meat trade sold from $179 to $260/head. Lambs in the 22-24kg range to processors sold from $233 to $282/head. Heavy lambs to processors sold from $236 to $310/head.

Hoggets to processors eased by $7 and sold from $160 to $240/head. Light weight ewes to restockers sold from $88 to $122/head. Heavy ewes to processors sold from $140 to $230/head. Merino wethers to processors sold from $121 to $152 with heavy wethers at $210 to $244/head. Ram lambs to processors sold from $129 to $220/head. Meat rams sold from $160 to $210/head. Ewes and lambs topped at $252/unit.
