WARWICK CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – TUESDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 2026

The forecast of rainfall across parts of the supply area contributed to a slight reduction in numbers at Warwick with the yarding falling by 177 head to 1,106. Export buyer attendance was not as good as the previous week however there was strong support from local and interstate restockers on light weight cattle. The lead of the yearling steers to restockers as well as feed experienced some improvements in price. Yearling heifers experienced a similar trend with average prices 10c to 20c/kg better. Most classes of cows also sold to a stronger market to average 5c to 10c/kg dearer and more in places.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 598c with a good sample averaging from 496c to 541c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 479c to 503c and sold to 536c/kg. A handful of heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 484c to average 473c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers sold to restockers at an average of 442c with sales to 494c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged from 438c to 445c with sales to 498c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to the trade made to 498c to average 486c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 421c and made to 442c/kg.
Bullocks made to 470c to average 454c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 331c made to 341c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 364c and the best of the heavy weight cows made to an isolated 414c with most around 386c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 464c/kg.
