BLACKALL CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – THURSDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2025
Blackall combined agents yarded a total of 1,599 head of cattle for this week’s Prime & Store Sale. The yarding this week was of mixed quality throughout both the prime and store yarding. The Prime cattle market this week was very strong on the better-end well-covered cattle, with heavy bulls out to 400.2c/kg and bullocks selling to 412.2c/kg for 600kg. With the mixed quality store yarding buyers completed strongly on the better lines of cattle with feeder steers to 510.2c/kg at 400kg, and feeder heifers out to 418.2c/kg for 450kg. The yarding this week was drawn from all local areas as well as consignments from Winton, Boulia and Torrens Creek.

E & R Robertson, Isisford, sold Brahman steers for 396.2c/kg weighing 428kg for a return of $1,697/head. They had also sold Brahman cows for 370c/kg weighing 580kg for a return of $2,146/head.
Ryan Brothers “Nudgee,” Blackall, sold Santa Gertrudis X steers for 510.2c/kg weighing 398kg for a return of $2,035/head. They had also sold Santa Gertrudis X heifers for 408.2c/kg weighing 394kg for a return of $1,608/head.
Rosemount Grazing “Rosemount,” Barcaldine, sold Angus X heifers for 378.2c/kg weighing 524kg for a return of $1,983/head. They had also sold Charolais X cows for 385c/kg weighing 630kg for a return of $2,425/head. As well as Simmental bull for 362.2c/kg weighing 866kg for a return of $3,136/head.
Taree Grazing Co “Taree,” Aramac, sold Droughtmaster heifers for 392.2c/kg weighing 501kg for a return of $1,968/head. They had also sold Droughtmaster cows for 380c/kg weighing 669kg for a return of $2,544/head.
