CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 18TH JUNE 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 1,906 Prime cattle consisting of 198 Bullocks, 388 Heifers, 1,106 Cows and 214 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of a few good runs of finished Ox with the yard predominately made up of well-finished Cows and some good pens of Bulls. The majority of Meatworks and Feedlot buyers were active on all lines. Bulls were dearer due to extra Exporters operating. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Hughenden, Croydon, Burketown, Georgetown, McKinlay as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted unchanged, Heifers were 3-5¢ easier, Cows were 6-10¢ dearer, and Bulls were 10-30¢ dearer on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 2¢/kg for 19 Ox sold on A/c Hillgrove Pastoral, “Hillgrove” Charters Towers that weighed 507kg to return $1,594 per head.
  • Best Priced trade Heifers were presented on A/c Hillgrove Pastoral, “Hillgrove”, Charters Towers that sold for 278.0¢/kg, and weighed 490kg to return $1,362 per head.
  • The top pen of Cows were sold by A/c Laroona Pastoral Co, “Laroona”, Charters Towers for 2¢/kg, weighing 613kg to return $1,693 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/c Laroona Pastoral Co, “Laroona”, Charters Towers topped at 2¢/kg and weighed 780kg, to return $2,310 per head.
