Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 1,157 Prime Cattle.
Consisting of 413 Bullocks, 154 Heifers, 484 Cows and 106 Bulls

Cattle comprised of a reduced yarding of prime cattle, mainly consisting of a large run of older Bullocks, isolated pens of fat Heifers and a much smaller offering of Cows. All regular buyers were in attendance however the marker received a slight correction in line with the rest of the state

The yarding was drawn from Normanton, Hughenden, Richmond, Croydon, Einasleigh as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: 
Bullocks were quoted 10c/kg easier. Heifers were unchanged, Cows were 15c/kg easier and Bulls were unchanged on last weeks rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 364c/kg for a pen of Brahman Ox sold on A/c Maitland Grazing, “Oak Valley”, Einasleigh that weighed 536kg to return $1,953/hd.
  • Best priced Trade Heifers were presented on A/c Gilmore, “Cranford Station”, Torrens Creek that sold for 352c/kg and weighed 540kg to return $1,901/hd.
  • The top pen of Cows were sold by A/c E & S Mcintosh for 346c/kg weighing 645kg to return $2,232/hd.
  • Bulls sold on A/c J O’Sullivan topped at 332c/kg and weighed 737 to return $2,450/hd.
