CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,514 Prime cattle consisting of 571 Bullocks, 293 Heifers, 1292 Cows and 358 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of some good lines of quality heavy Bullocks and Cows. Accompanied by a larger yarding of secondary type cattle selling to a firm or slightly dearer trend. Demand for heavy cattle improved with an additional processor active, all other regular processors were in attendance. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Richmond, Hughenden, Normanton, Georgetown, Einasleigh as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted 20¢ dearer, Heifers were 25¢ dearer, Cows were firm, and Bulls were up 10¢ on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 410.2¢/kg which sold on A/c EJT & KL Camp, Burketown that weighed 565kg to return $2,316 per head.
  • Best Priced Trade Heifers were presented on A/c AJ & MA Spurdle, Mingela that sold for 400.2¢/kg and weighed 525kg to return $2,103 per head.
  • The top pen of Cows were sold by A/c SP Grazing, Charters Towers for 366.2¢/kg, weighing 567kg to return $2,077 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/c Lilyvale Land Co, “Lilyvale”, Richmond made 346.2¢/kg and weighed 720kg, to return $2,493 per head.
