CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 20TH AUGUST 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 3,275 Prime cattle. The cattle consisted of 989 Bullocks, 244 Heifers, 1,870 Cows and 172 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of a larger than normal yarding of prime cattle with all categories selling to a firm or slightly dearer trend based on previous weeks. A full panel of regular and southern processors were in attendance with competition remaining solid.

The yarding was drawn from Georgetown, Mt Isa, Richmond, Hughenden, Torrens Creek, Prairie, Clermont as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted unchanged, Heifers were also unchanged, Cows were 10c dearer, and Bulls were unchanged on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 388c/kg on A/C Turley Cattle Co “Wandovale”, Charters Towers that weighed 612kg to return $2,374 per head.
  • Best priced trade Heifers were presented on A/C Hammer Grazing Trust that sold for 340c/kg and weighed 507kg to return $1,726 per head.
  • The top pen of Cows were sold by A/C Bogunda Partnership for 362c/kg, weighing 584kg to return $2,114 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/C D & K Bolton topped at 324c/kg and weighed 895kg, to return $2,902 per head.
