CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 24TH JUNE 2026
Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 2,056 Prime Cattle.
Consisting of 696 Bullocks, 257 Heifers, 1,027 Cows & 76 Bulls.
Cattle comprised of a large run of heavy meatworks Bullocks, as well as a small yarding of feeder Steers. There was a reduced yarding of Cows, consisting of mainly medium to lighter weight types. Prices were reflective of the reduction in weight and quality. The remainder of the yarding consisted of the usual number of Heifers, and a reduced number of Bulls on last weeks market.
The yarding was drawn from Normanton, Croydon, Georgetown, Einasleigh, Richmond, Winton and Hughenden, as well as local and coastal areas.
Prime Quotes:
Bullocks were unchanged, Medium Heifers were 20c/kg easier, heavy heifers unchanged, Cows were 10c/kg easier, and Bulls were 15c/kg dearer on last weeks rates.

- Bullocks sold on A/c Bradley Maitland, “Oak Valley” Einasleigh, topped at 376.2c/kg, and weighed 550kg to return $2,071 per head.
- A line of 367 Bullocks on A/c Maitland Grazing, “Oak Valley” Einasleigh, topped at 374.2c/kg to average 367c/kg to weigh 574kg, and returned $2,108 per head.
- Best priced Trade Heifers were presented on A/c DAF, Hervey Range that sold for 372.2c/kg and weighed 446kg to return $1,660 per head.
- The top pen of Cows were sold by A/c DF & DM Jones, Richmond for 250.2c/kg weighing 672kg to return $2,356 per head.
- Bulls sold on A/c A & T Richardson, Winton topped at 330c/kg and weighed 828kg to return $2,733 per head.
