CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 2ND JULY 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 1,798 Prime Cattle. The Cattle consisted of 285 Bullocks, 462 Heifers, 928 Cows and 123 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of predominately good runs of Heavy Cows, well finished Prime Heifers and a mixed quality run of Bullocks. The yarding was drawn from Normanton, Georgetown, Mount Isa, Winton, Cloncurry, Hughenden and a large percentage from the local Charters Towers Region.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted firm, Heifers were 10¢ dearer, Cows were 10¢ dearer and Bulls were 10¢ dearer, on last week’s rates.

  • Santa Cross Bullocks topped at 278¢/kg sold on a/c AJ & MA Spurdle that weighed 640kg to return a $1,780 per head.
  • Best priced trade Heifers were presented on a/c Beco Pastoral that sold for 280¢/kg and weighed 489kg to return $1,370 per head.
  • The top pen of Cows was sold by a/c Jalbeyo Pty Ltd, for 269¢/kg, weighing 601kg to return $1,618 per
  • Charbray Herd Bulls return to the paddock for duties topped at 322¢/kg weighing 920kg, returning $2,964 per head.
