CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 30TH JULY 2025

Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 1,560 Prime Cattle. The cattle consisted of 519 Bullocks, 140 Heifers, 724 Cows and 177 Bulls.

Cattle comprised of a good line of well finished Bullocks, only a few Heifers and mostly Cows. There was a strong demand for the heavyweight pens with the addition of a buyer from NSW and all regular processors in attendance. The yarding was drawn from Mount Isa, Richmond, Burketown as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were 30c dearer, Heifers were 30c dearer, heavyweight Cows were 70c dearer, mediumweight Cows were 30c dearer and Bulls were 30c dearer than last weeks rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 346c/kg for Brahman X Bullocks sold on A/C EJT & KL Camp that weighed 609kg to return $2,109 per head.
  • Best priced trade Heifers were presented on A/C PS & KA Merton that sold for 340c/kg and weighed 555kg to return $1,888 per head.
  • The top pen of Cows were sold on A/C Almora Pastoral CO, for 364c/kg weighing 584kg to return $2,126 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/C EJT & KL Camp topped at 388c/kg weighing 698kg returning $2,361 per head
