CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 12TH NOVEMBER 2025

Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 2,804 cattle consisting of 1,999 prime cattle and 805 store cattle. The prime cattle consisted of 543 bullocks, 255 heifers, 890 cows and 311 bulls. The store cattle consisted of 439 steers, 321 heifers and 45 x 45 cows and calves.

Cattle comprised of several good lines of heavy bullocks, isolated pens of heavy heifers and cows, and good numbers of bulls. All categories experienced strong competition, particularly in the prime section, with stores selling to last week’s rates. The yarding was drawn from Hughenden, Cloncurry, Julia Creek, Georgetown, Mount Garnett, as well as local and coastal areas.

Bullocks were quoted 20c/kg dearer, heifers were 25c/kg dearer, cows were 25c/kg dearer and bulls were 40c/kg dearer on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 448.2 c/kg A/c LG Grazing, weighing 673kg to return $3,016 per head.
  • Best priced trade heifers were presented A/c Circle X Cattle Co, selling for 430.2 c/kg, weighing 456kg to return $1,960 per head.
  • The top pen of cows was sold A/c Ashley Smith for 420.2c/kg, weighing 654kg to return $2,750 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/c JR & DJ Brownson sold for 386.2c/kg, weighing 642kg to return $2,479 per head.
