CHARTERS TOWERS PRIME & STORE CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 13TH AUGUST 2025
Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 3,202 cattle, consisting of 2,044 Prime cattle and 1,158 Store cattle. The prime cattle consisted of 437 Bullocks, 456 Heifers, 1,044 Cows and 107 Bulls. The store cattle consisted of 731 Steers, 104 Mickeys, 319 Heifers and 4 Cows & Calves.
Cattle comprised of small lines of quality heavy Bullocks, a large run of trade Heifers and predominantly well -finished Cows. The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Richmond, Hughenden, Lakeland, Dimbulah, Normanton, Einasleigh, Greenvale as well as local and coastal areas.
Prime Quotes: Bullocks were quoted 5c dearer, Heifers were 30c dearer, Cows were 5c dearer, and Bulls were unchanged on last week’s rates.

- Bullocks topped at 366c/kg on A/C Trouble Cattle Co, “Mt Full Stop”, Charters Towers that weighed 791kg to return $2,896 per head.
- Best priced prime export Heifers were presented on A/C D & N Flute, “Denbeigh”, Hughenden that sold for 376c/kg, and weighed 553kg to return $2,081 per head.
- The top pen of Cows were sold by A/C J & R Cairns, “Flinders Dairy”, Hughenden for 344c/kg, weighing 629kg to return $2,163 per head.
- Bulls sold on A/C Aj & JL Pemble, “Southernview”, Charters Towers topped at 354c/kg and weighed 790kg, to return $2,798 per head.
Store Quotes: Store cattle were made up of a few good lines of backgrounder Steers and Heifers from the west, with the remainder being local weaners.

- A good pen of Heifers on A/C S McIntosh, “Canterbury Park”, Hughenden made 346.2c/kg, weighed 413kg returning $1,430 per head.
- Limited Cows & Calves sold from $1,250 to $1,400 per unit.
