Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 1,363 Prime Cattle. The cattle consisted of 273 bullocks, 138 heifers, 867 cows and 85 bulls.

Cattle comprised of mostly well finished Cows with some good, finished, Bullocks and Steers with competition firm across better types. The yarding was drawn from Georgetown, Atherton, Murray Upper, Malanda, Mt Garnet, Tully, Mt Isa, Richmond, Hughenden, Torrens Creek as well as local and coastal areas.

Prime Quotes: Bullocks were unchanged, heifers were 5-8c dearer, cows were 5-10c dearer, and bulls were 10-15c easier on last week’s rates.

  • Bullocks topped at 294.2c/kg on A/c Pedracini Grazing, “Scartwater”, Charters Towers that weighed 460kg to return $1,353 per head.
  • Best priced trade heifers were presented on A/c BM Entriken, “Toronto Park”, Richmond that sold for 265c/kg and weighed 565kg to return $1,497 per head.
  • The top pen of cows were sold by A/c Fletchervale Pastoral Co, “Fletchervale”, Charters Towers for 251.2c/kg, weighing 501kg to return $1,259 per head.
  • Bulls sold on A/c Fry Bloodline Trust, “Forest Home”, Georgetown topped at 250.2 c/kg and weighed 753kg, to return $1,884 per head.
